About Us

TournamentWaterSki.com has been under development since January of 2005 and was launched on 4/1/05. The idea took shape over the past twelve months.

Wouldn’t it be great to sign-up for tournaments on-line. Then you’d know if you’re in the event and who else is skiing. A record of your past performances and rankings would be nice too.

So we have put it all together in one easy to use place – TournamentWaterSki.com.

Picking the right name can be a daunting task. We considered WaterSkiResults.com, 3-event.com, CompetitonWaterSki.com and many more. Someone even suggested SkiterBoy.com. We finally narrowed it down to TWS.

Our results come from many sources. AWSA’s result page, each regions sites, the IWSF site, the Canadian Water Ski Association, tournament scorers and over 40,000 results from Bob Corson of the IWSF. He was kind enough to provide results from 1995 to 2004 for many US and International tournaments.

Our Plan
We will become the premiere (and probably only) Tournament Water Ski History site. Our results are never removed, so our resource will grow over time. This gives our visitors the opportunity to see past performances and to view the results in unique ways. Want to see all the scores for skiing legend Kris LaPoint. You can see 105 scores, as of 5/05 (179 results as of 12/06).

Rankings are also presented by year, so you can see where Kris was ranked each year of his illustrious and on-going career. Results for the 1st place skier in each division from the first US Nationals in 1939 at Jones Beach, NY through the 2004 nationals in West Palm Beach were recently added.

About Us
We have a small staff who all help gather, compile and maintain our database, which is the heart of the web site. We are located in Sacramento, CA and ski at Bell Aqua Lake 1 in Rio Linda, CA. I was a national level skier who skied in the ’76 Miami, ’77 Berkeley and ‘78 Tivoli Gardens nationals and every western regionals from 1974 - 1981. Then I changed jobs and had nowhere to practice, so I quit skiing until moving to Sacramento 3 years ago. It’s great to be back, even though the competiton level has gone up dramatically.
